Here at This Reality Podcast we have been shouting about Still Corners since October 2009.
It’s nice that a bunch of ‘new music’ websites are also starting to pick up on how excellent this band are.
I just wish everyone was as switched on as we were.
Since we first found Still Corners, supporting Fanfarlo at the Jericho Tavern in Oxford, the Corners have been growing their work, their repertoire and going from strength to strength.
The good news is that the ‘Corners’ have signed to former grunge, now genre-defying Seattle-based label ‘Sub Pop’.
This, in our opinion, can only be a good thing for the Corners. Their smudgy, slightly out of focus C.21st version of ’60s cool is a brilliant invention that should be taken to the widest audience.
Sub Pop could be just the right kind of edgy, pushing, committed record label to help the Corners on their way.
We will be following this relationship with the greatest interest – and we would like to take this opportunity to wish the lovely folk in Still Corners, and the good people at Sub Pop, the very best of luck with this relationship.
