Episode 107: 56 minutes running time

Hello from Oxfordshire, Englandshire, UKshire! This week’s podcast brings excellent music from four bands, a full-on gig review of a four-band night, film reviews and almost a live phone call to New Zealand!

Talkie bits:

  • Film talk: ‘In The Loop’, ‘No Way Out’ and the new Matt Damon/Jason Isaacs stormer, ‘Green Zone’
  • News of a forthcoming Battle Of The Bands competition at the 02 in Oxford (Facebook page here: http://tinyurl.com/ygfscdm)
  • Three US TV networks have banned an advert for using the medical word ‘Vagina’. What a bunch of cunts
  • The failed live on-air phone call trial. Come on people, give us your details and we will call you during the show
  • A review of the four-band gig that brought us Speakowire, Relik, Secret Rivals and inLight
  • Looking forward to Sunday night’s Joy Formidable gig

You want more? Really?

  1. Walter in Deutschland says:

I wonder how many people will understand your joke, when you talk about The Secret Rivals, where you said the drummer was Obscured By Clouds? I nearly choked on my coffee it was so funny.

  2. Jay says:

Hey Walter Clouds is the frontwoman of

  3. Jay says:

    …the band

(i know it wasnt at all necessary to use 2 posts for that one sentence….soz its still early and my cursor hand has a mind of its own until at least mid day >.<)

    Like the review, extensive stuff.

And i agree Reece is sik!

  4. producer says:

Jay, use as many posts as you like.

I think Walter recognised my use of the words ‘Obscured by Clouds’ as also being the title of one of Pink Floyd’s most important albums. It was a compliment to The Rivals.

  5. Walter in Deutschland says:

Yes of course I was. Obscured By Clouds was clver. It is a fantastic Album but the film that it is a soundtrack of is very strrange.
